Repaint Laminate Cabinets

Cabinet coat is designed to adhere to plastic metal and urethane surfaces without a primer but laminate and melamine surfaces should be sanded before painting.

To paint laminate cabinets start by removing the hardware cleaning the surface and sanding the cabinets with medium grit sandpaper until the surface feels smooth. Use a paint brush along areas that are close to the wall and on the edges. Once this is done pour everything into a paint tray and you re ready for rolling. Laminate cabinets require a special bonding primer. By the way veneer is slightly different from laminate. Short of committing to a more costly replacement of outdated kitchen storage repainting laminate cabinets is an affordable way to turn the eyesore into eye catching modern cabinetry.
