Removed Carpet Now Door Is Too Short

Obviously the casing trim was way too short to begin with but the carpet and pad hid that fact.

The flooring is hardwood also i do not have central air heat. The door jamb and molding are now too short. What should i do. These decorative square wood blocks often found in older homes are used at the corners and bottom of wood trim.

Cut the filler piece so it is the same width as the door. Prior the carpet was plusher and made the gap in this one door jamb less obvious. Sometimes carpenters can fill that space in with wood and since its painted it would hide the fact that its a sliver of wood down there. Cut the filler piece 1 2 to 1 inch shorter than the gap between the floor and door with a wood or circular saw.
