Remove Melted Wax From Carpet

If you cannot react immediately you can still clean up the mess after the wax solidifies.

Remove melted wax from carpet.

Place enough ice cubes in a ziploc bag to completely cover the wax stain. Heat an iron to a medium setting with no steam and press the iron to the paper bag directly over the wax. The heat will draw the wax out of the carpet and into the towel. Once the wax is melted it will stick to the bag or towel.

As the melted body wax hardens it sticks to the carpet nap. Repeat until the wax is gone you may have to hold the iron in place for up to 30 seconds. Press an iron set on high over the towel for 10 seconds. Let the wax freeze for a few minutes.

Run the warm iron over the cloth until the wax melts. You may think the mess is permanent and impossible to clean up but you can remove the body wax from the carpet. Ice can be used to harden wax to remove it from carpet. Bag of ice or an ice pack iron a hair dryer can work in a pinch paper towel terry cloth towel or brown paper bag.

A hair dryer set to the hottest setting can also be used to remove wax from carpet. Lay the plastic bag directly onto the area of your carpet with the wax stain. Rub gently to melt and remove some of the wax and then reposition the bag to soak up more wax. Dampen a white cotton towel fold it in half and place it over the wax.

Remove the plastic bag and begin to scrape the wax off the carpet using a dull knife. To remove wax from carpet you ll need the following on hand. Remove the ice and using a butter knife or the bowl of a plastic spoon gently scrape the wax from the carpet. Fill a plastic bag with ice.

To make wax easier to remove you can cool it down with an ice cube. Take immediate action to clean up the wax spill.
